The tunnel patch in progress.

Cuts were made to isolate the bends.

The location of the patch piece.

It seems to fit well. I left extra material on top so that I could trim it just right.

All cleaned up and ready.

The ends of the patch panel have been tacked together.

I used the torch to match the curves and create the curved bend. Lots of work with the hammer, dolly, torch, and wet rag.

Unfortunately I didn't leave enough material on this end of the patch piece.

The problem was solved by building up my tack welds to fill the void.

From this angle, you can see the curve is just right for the tunnel.

This is how the void was filled. It is important to work slowly to minimize the heat input. Too much heat and the resulting warping will make a mess of the work.
